I normally use the social website Yahoo! to find music and other websites. I chose this site because this is where I made my first e-mail account and it was convenient for me. When I search for music videos by a particular artist, there is an organized table setup of all different videos relating to the artist that are available to play. This website is organized by non-expert viewing and recommendation; whatever matches the search closest to the words used, the most popular site will appear at the top.
In other words, Yahoo! is organized by popularity and pertinence to the actual search. This makes it less overwhelming than displaying anything that contains the words used in your search topic. Although Yahoo! is great, Google is a competing website. Google has an important detail that Yahoo! doesn't display when listing the videos. Before viewing the actual videos, Google displays the average ratings of each one. In this way, it is a little bit more superior to Yahoo! because although they organize it in descending popularity, the actual number of stars is not displayed.

In light of the full moon this weekend, I'll take this post to reflect. Why is it that when you change your surrounding, time passes in a different way? I mean the difference of an hour or day is the same in the concept of time, but why is it that in some places an hour can feel like a minute or a minute can feel like an hour? For instance, this weekend feels nonexistant to me. It came and went in the blink of an eye and the past hour has felt longer to me than the previous three days combined.
I went home to New York this weekend, so the change in environment and company seems to be the leading cause. Not a minute of my time was wrecked with boredom or work, and so I believe the pleasant attitude strung me along through the days, very quickly. My point is that it is important to take notice of where you are and what you are doing so that the days don't fly right by or so that you don't waste your time and energy on something that is seemingly endless, because chances are, you are not enjoying yourself. Your time is precious, and that time could be better spent.
I'm glad to see that slowly but surely more people are viewing this blog. The traffic has increased, and the current stats are below. Also, if anyone has a suggestion as to what they would like to see here, let me know!

I chose Science Applications Intl. and Constellation Energy as my companies. My first few attempts to find connections between different companies failed, and so Science Applications Intl. was finally able to connect with Constellation Energy. I chose Science Applications Intl. because the phases of the moon, and the gravitational pull it feels, as well as the behavior of stars and planets, all fall within the range of the studies of science. Constellation Energy may not have the greatest relation, but deals with energy and since the name uses "Constellation" it was plausible to choose it because of the reference to groups of stars. The path connecting Science Applications Intl. and Constellation Energy is interesting because it is considerably short (path length of 4), and i thought it would have been a complicated web of connections. Also, there are individual people who have multiple connections.

I have just added some new bookmarks. I chose to bookmark "Boston University Calendar" by Lucia Marconi because it is a very useful tool and guide to have. It gives a day to day description of everything that is going on in BU. It also contains an academic calendar, letting all of us know when BU students have breaks, as well as scheduled testing like finals.

The second one I added was "The Superficial" bookmarked by Paul Toms. I chose this one because it seemed funny and very up-to-date on celebrity gossip, which is very entertaining when you are surfing the net and feel like reading mindless and pointless things!

"If you see the Moon at the end of the day
A bright Full Moon is on its way
If you see the Moon in the early dawn
Look real quick, it will soon be gone."

So what is the moon's effect on us physically? How about the periods of light and darkness it provides us? Well, when an observer begins to see the moon after a few nights of darkness, it appears to grow or wax. When the moon starts disappearing from a full moon, it is waning. There are also specific names for the different phases of the moon; Crescent, Quarter, Gibbous just to name a few. It is important to understand that the glow of the moon, the light that it appears to give off is actually provided by our sun. The reflection of light on the moon changes, depending on where the sun is and also where the earth is in relation to it.

Some people believe that the phases of the moon have some magic attached to them. There are all sorts of spells and stories about such things, as I will get into in my next post!

Look foward to the moon's effect on the tides, some tales about the full moon, and the belief in magical powers of the moon.

Have you ever experienced a day with an assortment of crazy events...maybe a little too out of the ordinary to overlook? Have you ever noticed a full moon on such days? Well, I have. This site will be dedicated to the moon, stars, and all in the night sky. I'll write about some experiences, and post information about horoscopes, etc. Hopefully I can examine the strange pull of the moon on such days, and discuss the physical pull of the moon and stars as well.
